Process

How I work.

Five principles I keep coming back to. Not a methodology, just what I've learned actually works.

  1. 01

    Write the decision down.

If a decision isn't written, it didn't happen. A short decision log saves weeks of relitigating later.

  2. 02

    Short rituals, done well.

A focused 20-minute sync beats a meandering hour. I'd rather meet briefly and often than rarely and for too long.

  3. 03

    Bring constraints in early.

Metadata, accessibility, legal, engineering capacity: these aren't surprises you add at the end. They're inputs at kickoff.

  4. 04

    Repeatable beats heroic.

Heroes burn out. Systems compound. I build the checklist, then I run it, then I improve it.

  5. 05

    Make the team look good.

My job isn't to be visible. It's to make the designers and engineers I work with successful. The work shipping well is the credit.
